What is Spider Vein Treatment?

Spider vein treatment is a procedure that involves using lasers to reduce or remove visible spider veins on the skin's surface. These veins are small, red, blue, or purple veins that appear on the face or legs and are caused by a variety of factors, such as aging, genetics, and pregnancy.

How does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

At our medspa in Sayville, NY we use Long-Pulsed Yag laser treatment, which can effectively reduce vascular lesions, including spider veins and cherry angioma. The laser delivers energy to the targeted blood vessels, heating and damaging them to collapse and fade over time. This treatment is safe, effective, and has minimal downtime, allowing you to quickly return to your daily routine with smoother, more even-looking skin.

Different Long-Pulsed Yag Laser Treatments

  • Spider veins on the Face: Spider veins on the face are often caused by sun damage, aging, or genetics, and can be effectively reduced or removed with laser treatment.

  • Spider veins on the Legs: Spider veins on the legs are a common concern, especially for women, and can be caused by factors such as pregnancy, genetics, and prolonged standing or sitting. Laser treatment can be used to reduce or remove spider veins on the legs, improving their appearance and reducing discomfort.

  • Spider veins on other areas: Spider veins can also appear on other areas of the body, such as the chest, back, and arms, and can be unsightly and cause self-consciousness.

  • Cherry angioma: small, bright red or purple bumps on the skin that can also be treated with laser therapy.

  • Vascular lesions: a range of conditions that affect blood vessels, including spider veins and cherry angioma.

Our Process for Laser Spider Vein Treatment

Consultation

Our experienced professionals will meet with you to discuss your concerns and goals for spider vein treatment. During the consultation, we will assess the size and location of your spider veins, and determine the best course of action for your specific needs. We will also provide you with detailed information about the laser treatment, including what to expect during and after the procedure, and any potential risks or side effects.

The Procedure

On the day of your spider vein treatment, you will receive a topical anesthetic to help minimize any discomfort during the procedure. Our Long-Pulsed Yag laser will then be used to target the affected blood vessels, heating and damaging them to collapse and fade over time. The procedure typically takes less than an hour, depending on the size and location of the spider veins.

Post-Treatment & Recovery

After the procedure, you may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising in the treated area. We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your skin after the procedure, including what to avoid and how to manage any discomfort. You may need to schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and ensure the best possible results.
