What is Tear Trough Filler?
Tear trough filler is a cosmetic treatment that involves injecting hyaluronic acid-based filler into the hollow area beneath the eyes, known as the tear trough. This area can become hollow and dark with age, leading to a tired or sunken appearance.
How Tired Eye Filler Works
We use a cannula to inject dermal filler into the tear troughs, adding volume to the hallowed areas and creating a more radiant and awake look. The use of a cannula allows us to carefully direct filler to the right places, and reduces bruising and swelling. The filler also enhances youthfulness by smoothing under-eye wrinkles and lines. We use Belotero, Restylane, or Redensity for great results that last between six months and 18 months.
Example of a Tear Trough Filler Experience
Time: 20-40 minutes
Pain: Topical cream or dental block used
Down time: None, swelling for 3-5 days and bruising may be present, with soreness
Aftercare: Ice, avoid sun exposure, avoid aspirin and alcohol and exercise for 24-48 hours. Apply arnica gel or take arnica pills to decrease the chance of bruising.
Longevity: Depending on the filler used and your body's metabolism, filler can last 8-15 months.
How Long Does Tear Trough Filler Last?
Tear trough filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the individual and the specific filler used. Over time, the body will naturally metabolize the filler, and the effects will gradually fade.
